Our 2011 - 2012 activities guide all kinds of opportunities to travel, attend concerts and performances, join a competitive LEGO robotics league, and explore your love of the arts, boating, horseback riding, and serving your community – just to name a few of many opportunities. We invite you to explore your known passions or try something totally new and different. We’re sure you’ll be back for more once you give one of our programs a try!
For our current members, I hope you will enjoy the many opportunities to explore Girl Scout journeys and earn badges and patches when you
attend our council-sponsored activities, and for girls who are not yet members I hope you will be amazed at the range of possibilities our activities provide for all areas of interest. For all girls we hope GSCI events and activities will be your choice for fun and adventure.
Parents and guardians, you can rest assured that when girls participate in the activities found in these pages, they will develop their leadership
potential, build skills in a vast array of areas, learn to work as a team with other girls, and become caring citizens – all while having fun in a safe
and nurturing environment. We also offer opportunities for parents, guardians, and other special adults in a girl’s life to join her in some council-sponsored activities, providing meaningful experiences for girls and the adults who are important to them.
Girls, as you well know, nothing beats the fun of pursuing activities you feel passionately about and making friendships with other girls who share your interests. In Girl Scouts you will be encouraged to try things you’ve never done before and you will have choices and opportunities you may have only dreamed of. There is always a next step in Girl Scouting, which means that the learning, fun, and adventure continue each time you participate.
Girl Scouting turns 100 in 2012, and there has never been a better time to celebrate being a girl. It is our commitment to provide you with a world of opportunity, so take a look through these pages, let yourself dream big, and let Girl Scouts of Central Illinois be your source for great girl-inspired fun and adventure!
