I Can't Wait to Make Music

Music has the power to communicate , entertain, and change our mood. In this two-part event, learn more about the language of music as you make music, take on the role of a conductor, and attend a symphony concert. This two-part program begins with an introductory workshop on October 4, 2013, and concludes with an Illinois Symphony Orchestra concert on October 11, 2013 in Bloomington. Girl Scout Juniors will earn their Musician badge, and all participants will earn an Illinois Symphony Orchestra fun patch. No musical experience required, but girls who play an instrument are encouraged to bring it with them to the workshop. If you enjoy cooking over a fire and under the stars, this is the perfect program for you. We’ll spend a night out at Echo Bluff Recreational Area cooking up a feast for dinner, stargazing with an astronomer, going on an owl prowl, and singing songs around the campfire.
