- Challenge Course

GSCI’s challenge course offers low and high ropes courses and a variety of ground initiatives designed to enhance participants’ leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Low ropes courses explore and recognize the benefits of highly effective teams and team building. High ropes courses take your group to a higher level by utilizing elements that are 20 and 40 feet in the air. Participants use ropes and harnesses, as well as a zip line, to negotiate the course. At Camp Widjiwagan, there is an additional option of scaling a climbing wall. We don’t get to spend time with animals in their natural homes--their habitats. But that doesn’t mean we can’t find out more about where they live and what they do there. Explore local wildlife as well as endangered species as you learn how animals eat, play, and socialize as we do the same on an overnight slumber party! May the odds be ever in your flavor! If you were chosen as a tribute, how would you fare in the Hunger Games? Increase your odds by learning to: prepare meals using outdoor cooking skills while you learn about wild game and edible plants, eat healthy foods that keep your body strong, make your own organic skincare, shoot an arrow like Katniss, scan the stars and find constellations, and identify plants and animals (including nocturnal animals on a night hike). Cap off your training just like Katniss would—with a Capitol-inspired dinner party, complete with etiquette training. You’ll have a great time with your fellow tributes—and in these Hunger Games, everyone wins.
