The Membership Specialist is responsible for attracting and retaining girl and adult membership through recruitment methods, programmatic events and activities, and positive community relationships that provide the resources needed within an assigned geographic area. The MS will work to ensure the availability of the program to all girls including the socio economic, racially and geographically underserved within the assigned council jurisdiction.
Marketing & Special Events Coordinator
Responsible for the management and coordination of outside events at the property formerly known as Honey Bend Campground & Resort. Additionally responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and public relations plans for the HBR property; conducts market research and stays abreast of changes in the marketplace and adjust plans accordingly. Develops sponsorship/trade/business arrangements and relationships with businesses, individuals and organizations interested in supporting Girl Scouts of Central Illinois and HBR. Works in coordination on other projects as assigned and without daily supervision.
Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 1-2 years of experience that includes event planning, writing and content creation, marketing plans and budgets. Excellent process, prioritization and organizational skills. Media ready communication skills including written skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a wide variety of tasks with multiple priorities. No direct supervision – may lead and indirectly direct the work of others.
Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends. Travel required; valid driver’s license required. Reports to COO-Fund Development. Marketing & Communications.
