Site Manager

Responsible for performing and/or supervising the maintenance, risk management, security and use of council properties. Provides support to council and camp staff, volunteers, and girls. Supervises, trains and directs the work of building and grounds maintenance and housekeeping staff. Responsible for a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, landscaping activities, maintenance of sidewalks, bridges, playgrounds, facilities, pool, docks and parking areas, removal of trash and snow and general camp host duties. Resides on site. Maintains necessary certifications and inspections as required including GSUSA camping guidelines, ACA and State of Illinois standards. Makes purchases, required to operate council vehicles, perform manual labor and lifting. Responsible for accurate record keeping.

Requires Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years in area of specialty. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, including maintenance of janitorial, structural, mechanical, and prevention. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Exposure to seasonal elements. Minimum 21 years of age. Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends.
Travel required; valid driver’s license required. Reports to Lead Site Manager.

Marketing & Special Events Coordinator

Responsible for the management and coordination of outside events at the property formerly known as Honey Bend Campground & Resort. Additionally responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and public relations plans for the HBR property; conducts market research and stays abreast of changes in  the marketplace and adjust plans accordingly. Develops sponsorship/trade/business arrangements and relationships with businesses, individuals and organizations interested in supporting Girl Scouts of Central Illinois and HBR. Works in coordination on other projects as assigned and without daily supervision.

Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 1-2 years of experience that includes event planning, writing and content creation, marketing plans and budgets. Excellent process, prioritization and organizational skills. Media ready communication skills including written skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a wide variety of tasks with multiple priorities. No direct supervision – may lead and indirectly direct the work of others.
Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends. Travel required; valid driver’s license required. Reports to COO-Fund Development. Marketing & Communications.


Works to ensure cabins, office and campground facilities are kept in a clean and orderly condition in line with campground policies and guest satisfaction. Responsible for laundry, general housekeeping, changing linens, keeping appropriate inventory of cleaning supplies, and other duties as assigned. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; one year of experience preferred. Familiar with a variety of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within field. Performs a variety of tasks. Does not supervise the work of others. Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends. Works under immediate supervision of Site Manager.


Performs the maintenance and upkeep of regional properties, facilities and camps to support the safety, health and well-being of campers, volunteers and staff of GSCI. Provides grounds keeping duties including but not limited to mowing, trimming, clearing and maintenance of trails, and generally keeping grounds and buildings in good working order and appealing to guests. Provides janitorial duties such as stocking of consumable products, cleaning and maintenance of facilities and equipment such as changing light bulbs, pressure washing, lubricating machinery, sharpening blades, repairing fencing, tents, platforms, tables, etc. Makes authorized purchases, required to operate council vehicles, perform manual labor and lifting. Exposure to seasonal elements. One year manual related labor and maintenance experience. Demonstrated experience and skills with machinery, light carpentry and electrical. Minimum 18 years of age. Flexible schedule includes evenings and weekends. Travel required; valid driver’s license required. Reports to Site Manager.
