Welcome to GSCI Theme

Current Opportunities

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois lists volunteer opportunities on Volunteer Match, as well as several other volunteer center websites. Volunteers who want to work with girls in Girl Scout troops are always welcome to join our terrific team of volunteer leaders. However, many short-term, ongoing and one-time volunteer opportunities exist as well.

Take a look at the options below and complete the Volunteer Interest Form for more information. Have something in mind, but don't see it listed? Please contact Danielle Bourell, Director of Membership at  dbourell@girlscouts-gsci.org or 217-622-6081.

Become a Series Volunteer - Volunteer for 4-6 weeks 1-4 times per year

Many girls and adults want to be a part of Girl Scouting but their schedule or interests are more suited to a shorter-term experience. In a Girl Scout series, a group of approximately 20 girls meet together for a 4 - 6 week themed leadership program under the guidance of 2-3 adult volunteers. We have several series offerings held throughout the year.

Become an Event Volunteer - Volunteer for 1 or more times a year

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois offers a wide variety of one-time events available throughout the year.  Volunteers can assist with delivering these fun, educational opportunities for girls. Topics include the Arts, Girl Empowerment, Outdoor Adventures, and Real World Skills. Programs are typically 2 to 4 hours in length.

Become a Troop Leader - Volunteer throughout the school year

While we have many volunteer opportunities available, from troop field trip driver to event committee member to adult trainer, our greatest need is for troop leaders/assistant leaders. Did you know that in some areas, we have girls on waiting lists for Girl Scout troops? Yes, the time commitment of a troop leader is larger than some other volunteer roles, but the rewards are priceless.
