Volunteers
Formal awards recognize exemplary service that goes above and beyond what is expected in a volunteer role.
Nomination Process
Recipients are nominated by fellow volunteers, staff, girl members and their families.
To nominate a volunteer, complete the application for the appropriate award, found below. Each award also requires that a certain number of people to endorse the volunteer using the respective endorsement questionnaire. Instructions on how to submit nominations are included in each application. Nominations are due February 15, 2013.

Volunteer of Excellence
Recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with girls or in support of the council’s mission delivery.
*One application and one endorsement questionnaires are needed.
Appreciation Pin
Recognizes an adult Girl Scout’s exemplary service, which has had measurable impact and helps reach and surpass the goals of the area.
*One application and two endorsement questionnaires are needed.
Honor Pin
Recognizes an adult Girl Scout’s exemplary service, which has had measurable impact on multiple geographic areas of service, allowing the council to reach and surpass its goals. .
*One application and three endorsement questionnaires are needed.
Thanks Badge
Girl Scouts’ highest volunteer award honors adults whose ongoing commitment, leadership and service had an exceptional impact on the council or entire Girl Scout Movement.
*One application and four endorsement questionnaires are needed.
Thanks Badge II
Recognizes previous Thanks Badge award recipients whose continuing exemplary service in a leadership role benefited the entire Girl Scout Movement.
*One application and four endorsement questionnaires are needed.
Volunteer Years of Service
Recognizes adults for years of active volunteer service. This pin is given out at our Annual Meeting to those volunteers attending. If you are unable to attend our Annual Meeting, you may order this pin through our Trefoil Boutique.
The Volunteer Years of Service pin is available in 5 year increments.
Membership Numeral Pins
Recognizes tenure within Girl Scouts, including both girl and adult years and may be purchased in our Trefoil Boutiques.
Adult members who would like 5-20 year pins may purchase them from our Trefoil Boutique.
