What's New?

Our brand.  GSUSA has rolled out a new look for Girl Scouts with some great new marketing ideas.  You may have already seen the new look on some of our publications and materials.  The theme is “What Did You Do Today?”

Our technology.  We have continued our “go green” process and you will be able to find everything you need on the website, which has a new look and is more user-friendly than ever.

Our program.  A key part of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience is the leadership journey, a coordinated series of activities grouped around a theme.  Each journey is tied to some of Girl Scouts’ 15 national outcomes for girls, as defined in the Girl Scout Leadership Model.  These outcomes are integral to the three leadership keys, Discover, Connect, and Take Action.  There are now 3 sets:  “It’s Your World – Change It!”, “It’s Your Planet – Love It!”, and “It’s Your Story – Tell It!”.  Check out Journeys for more information.  Coming this fall, 2011, is the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting.  This streamlined and updated badge/handbook will combine the prior handbook, badge book, and award requirements into one organized binder.

What's Next?

Having a great Girl Scout year!  We want to help ensure that you have everything you need to provide you for a wonderful Girl Scout experience for your girls.  If you need any assistance, please contact your Membership Specialist or Community Organizer.

Fall Recruitment  Beginning in August, GSCI will hold Girl Scout recruitment nights or events at every elementary school to give every girl the opportunity to join.  You can help by letting your Membership Specialist know if you are accepting more girls.  If you want to target a specific grade level of girls at a specific school, please contact your Membership Specialist.

Product Sales The Fall Product Sale Program is a great way for troops to earn additional funds to help support troop activities, purchase supplies and materials, and participate in Girl Scout events.  Girl Scouts learn valuable leadership skills including financial literacy, goal setting and teamwork, and earn valuable funds for their troops or as individuals as well.  More information regarding the Fall Product Sale will be coming through your Membership Specialist.
